Day by day program Pizzoccheri Tour Cevedale:
st day: Transfer from Milano Malpensa Airport to Bormio and Santa Caterina, Valtellina, Lombardia Region, in the centre of The Italian Alps. At your arrival we will check your climbing gear and what we need for the week. Any gear you still need or is missing we will rent in S.ta Caterina in the afternoon or the following morning. We will stay for the night in the cosy Hotel Sport, right in the centre of Santa Caterina Valfurva. A big plate of Pizzoccheri (local delicious dish) and a couple of glasses of the tasty Inferno wine will make special our evening!
nd day: After a short transfer to Baite dei Forni (2176 m) we park the car and we get ready with skis and skins. The program of today is to reach the Ghiacciaio dei Forni, leaving behind the extra things we climb up to Pizzo Tresero (3594 m) with light gear. On the way back after a great descent we collect the extra luggage and we easily reach the well located Rifugio Branca (2493 m) on the side of the Forni Glacier.
rd day: A nice and easy climb with a short steep climb at the top to reach Monte Pasquale (3553 m). From the summit we’ll enjoy the beautiful descent of the Vedretta di Cedec Glacier and we will end the day at Rifugio Pizzini (2700 m), good beer and good food!
th day: Climb up to Monte Cevedale (3769 m), the main summit of the area. To climb Cevedale we will do a round trip through Vedretta del Cevedale and Vedretta di Cedec Glaciers. Back to Rifugio Pizzini where we stay for the night.
th day: Climb up to Cima di Solda (3376 m) and a really long descent to the traditional Village of Solda (1907 m). We stay at night in the beautiful Hotel Cristallo (or similar if Cristallo is not available) where a good sauna and an excellent dinner will restore the energy.
th day: After a good morning of freeriding in the ski resort we’ll ski down to Val Madriccio, climb up to Cima Madriccio (3265 m) and ski again down the valley to reach Rifugio Nino Corsi (2265 m) or Rifugio Martello (2610 m).
th day: Long flatish climb on Verdetta del Cevedale Glacier to reach Cima tre Cannoni (3300 m) and ski back down to Rifugio Pizzini and to the car. Drive back to the Airport after another good dish of Pizzoccheri, for not forget the taste of The Italian Alps!
