Val Maira Barolo e Castelmagno

Val Maira

Val Maira Ski Touring

The secluded Val Maira in the Cottian Alps, in Cuneo Province and Piemonte Region, is a true paradise for Ski Touring and Mountaineering. Such e wide range of routes that can compete with any other region of The Alps. Val Maira is one of the places where always you can find good snow and where normally the ski touring season starts very early. Some of the mountain huts like the beautiful Rifugio di Viviere normally opens already at the beginning of February. Food, wine and traditions are strictly connected with the culture of these valleys and we will have time during this week to discover them: Barolo is one of the best wines of Piemonte and Castelmagno, mostly typical of the close Valle Grana, is one of the more tasty cheeses you can eat. The combination of this two flavours in good Risotto, with a couple of glasses of the same Barolo wine used for it, is someting you’ll never forget!
