The Rifugio Margherita (Capanna Regina Margherita) is a mountain hut belonging to the Italian Alpine Club, located at 4,554 metres (14,941 ft) above sea level on the summit of Punta Gnifetti (also called Signalkuppe) of Monte Rosa, in Italy, Pennine Alps. It is the highest building in Europe. The Hut is located in Italian territory, near the border between Italy and Switzerland, in the Italian region of Piedmont. The nearest settlements is Alagna Valsesia, starting point for the traditional climb to the hut. The climb to the Hut is quite challenging but without technical difficulties and upon our arrival up there the effort will be rewarded by a magnificent panorama with a good glass of wine and a slice of pizza, obviously Margherita, the highest in Europe!
