Valentina Tarana, AMM, Guide de Moyenne Montagne, Mountain Leader

I was born in 1986 in Biella and as many other member of the team I grew up looking, just behind the town, the majesty of the south side of Monte Rosa and wondering about it. After the graduation in Philosophy, with a thesis on mountaineering, I start working as a chef in different mountain huts; I wanted to stay there where my heart beat, and I went around many valley, above all Valsesia. But after more then ten years working inside a kicthen I decide to move outside and try a different path. In 2019 I completed the course to become an Italian AMM (Medium Mountain Guide, Mountain and Trekking Leader) and now I’m looking forward to guide you in this gorgeous place full of culture, art, and good food, called The Italian Alps. Meanwhile I look after the office of this amazing team.

We had the most epic time with Alagna Ski Guides! They took our goals and priorities for the trip into consideration and created the perfect, custom trip to travel and ski throughout the Alps. We were able to find some incredibly challenging terrain, but felt supported and safe with our guides at all times. We fully intend to book with Paolo and Alagna Ski Guides the next time we return to Europe to ski…. Italy or elsewhere! 110% recommended!

We have just come back from 5 days of guided off-piste skiing in Monte Rosa area. Despite poor snow conditions, our guide Paolo Paglino from Alagna Ski Guides did an outstanding job in finding good snow and taking us to the most beautiful areas of this part of Alps. Paolo was constantly evaluating weather and snow conditions in these 3 valleys to find the best place for skiing. We have been skiing with a number of alpine guides before, but the experience with Paolo was fantastic. Thank you, Paolo, for a great week and I am sure we will come back to ski with you again in the future.

Nous avons exploré cette magnifique région durant 4 jours en compagnie de Giuseppe, guide expérimenté, patient, à l'écoute de ses clients, respectueux, sensible et de surcroît très intéressant car très cultivé. Nous avons appris avec lui plein de choses intéressantes sur la région.Nous le recommandons sans réserve, et reviendrons à Alagna pour continuer d'explorer les multiples possibilités de randonnées en sa compagnie. We've just returned from a sensational three days touring with Andrea and Giuseppe from the Alagna Ski Guides. They found us fresh tracks everywhere we went, extremely safe and great fun to be with! From the day I started skiing I wanted to ski off piste, For about 10 years now my friends & I have been doing that with Powder Paolo and Alagna Ski Guides in Alagna, other parts of Italy, Austria & France. Paolo's commitment is first rate. He finds safe snow, has taken our group right to the edge of our comfort zone; exhibits endless patience, a great sense of humour and even occasionally stops for lunch (much more so as we get older!). I've been to the places I dreamed to ski, deserted valleys, glaciers and forests all with stunning scenery, sometimes needing a bit of a climb up or a roped descent down, pumping adrenaline and all adding to the adventure! We have just had another outstanding week ski touring with Paulo. As ever, he selected a varied and interesting collection of routes making good use of the conditions and with his usual consideration for the needs and wishes of our group. Alagna ski guides are friendly and professional. Paulo always mixed well with the group and adds to the social part of a trip in addition to keeping us safe and happy. John Patrick

We have skied with Paolo for several years. This year a couple of days in the Monterosa was followed by a week in the Queyras. Despite the relative lack of snow in this part of France, Paolo found us routes for six excellent days of touring. We explored the local valley but also travelled a little further afield. As always, the routes were well chosen for the group enabling everyone to have a great time. Thanks Paolo!
