Wine Tasting Tour

Enjoy a unique and phenomenal experience by combining relaxing hikes in the vineyards and

tasting plentiful of local wine appellations

GO TO PROGRAM and PRICES for WINE TASTING TOUR

The Northern part of Piedmont Region, increasingly known as Alto Piemonte, is the cradle of a wine making tradition that dates back as far as the Roman times.
In this lands at the foothills of the Alps the most noble grape varietal of all has found its perfect home: that is NEBBIOLO.

Ghemme, Gattinara, Fara, Sizzano, Boca, Colline Novaresi, Coste della Sesia, Bramaterra, Lessona and Valli Ossolane are all Nebbiolo and indigenuos grape varietals-based appellations that cover the four provinces of Biella, Vercelli, Novara and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. More than eighty between craft wine producers and family-run estates testify the amazing quality of what can still be considered an off-the-beaten-path wine production.

There is a plethora of hidden gems with labels that range from youthful to aged wines with a bias to seduce you and take you into a mind-blowing and mesmerizing experience.

Whether you feel like giving your legs a break after a full on skiing session or simply fancy looking at your holiday from a different perspective, a Wine Tour with us can make your day as exhilarating and inspiring as you never thought it could be.
Wine Tours caters to guests who have booked a minimum one week in the same ski resort and include a variety of daily programs that typically include a hike in the vineyard followed by a wine and local food tasting.
Upon request we can offer bespoke plans including lunch in the best local restaurants and taverns.

Detailed Program and Prices

We offer you a full day discovering the area with our guides and mountain leader expert in wine. We start at morning in the centre of Gattinara, medieval village, then we move inside the hills hiking through the vineyard, just before midday, after 1.30 hour walking, we reach the first Cantine. Here we do the tour of wine cellar and then wine tasting. After this we have two possibilities:
A In the first afternoon we leave the farm and we continue to explore the area, we visit the beautiful castle and then we will go back to the centre of the village and visit the second farm.
B In the first afternoon we reach the car and we move to Lessona, the other village close to Gattinara; from there we explore the area of vineyard from a different point of view, after 1.30 hour walking we reach the second farm. Tour of wine cellar and wine tasting. Late afternoon we return to Gattinara.

This is the “classic” program but other options are available and we can also tailor a program to suit you. All of these programs must be booked in advance in order to secure availability of the local Guide expert in wine and book the Cantine.
